ACADEMY OF ROCK (ASHBY)
The Academy of Rock is a music school and rehearsal studio located in the heart of the UK in Ashby de la Zouch and has been established since 2011.
We specialise in teaching Drums, Vocals, Guitar and Bass and have three fully equipped studio’s available for hire for bands or solo rehearsals. Just bring your own instruments (except drums) and we’ll provide the rest!!
We are open for lessons and rehearsals by appointment at any time throughout the day, on any day of the week (subject to availability). There’s no curfew on rehearsal time in evenings. We also hire to individual for solo practice. Studio Hire
We are also the areas chosen venue by Rockschool Exam Board to host their exam days, which is beneficial to our students studying the Rockschool syllabus. This is advantageous as they are familiar and comfortable with the surroundings, under exam conditions.
Parking is available for bands only (please ensure your vehicle registration is entered on to our system on arrival). A drop of / collection allowance of 10 mins is provided for music students. There is plenty of local parking available within a two minute walk of the studio.

REHEARSAL STUDIOS
All of our studio’s contain the following equipment:
Mapex Pro-M or Mapex Meridian 5 piece drum kits, including snare drum (cymbals / hi-hats maybe hired for £5 per session).
Quality branded guitar & bass amps.
Marshall, Fender and Hughes & Kettner 4 x 4 guitar cabs for those who wish to plug in their own guitar amp.
At least 3 Shure SM58 Mics with stands (please specify if more required)
2 RCF 12” Speakers and mixing desks
All necessary cables for mics / PA
TUITION
At Ashby Academy of Rock, we offer Guitar, Bass, Drums, . All of our tutors are at least Grade 8 qualified and are all active, gigging musicians.
All tutors are able to guide students through Rockschool Grades and other exam grades of their choice or they are able to design a syllabus to suit an individual’s needs. Our tutors are also able to help with live performance, technique and general musical awareness.
From time to time, we organise open mic events where students are able to play along with live bands in front of an audience. This provides a great platform for students to gain live experience. ALL TUITION IS £19 per 30 minute lesson, £28 per 45 minute & £36 per hour.
